Well, if God is invisible, so is the rational soul invisible. Thus, we are the “image” of God if you can call invisibility an image. I have to wonder at people who have had near-death experiences who claim to have seen God. That doesn’t seem possible to me. Perhaps they saw the Manifestation of God, which, as Bahá’u’lláh said, is basically the same as God, as far as we’re concerned.

How does one embrace one and all simultaneously? Creating is two people. Being and exploring is one people. Connecting with all is all people in our lives how do we thread this together?

What for? That doctrine was peached, but the explanation is here. Why should I love every one? Because they and I are one. Why should I love my brother? Because he and I are one. There is this oneness; this solidarity of the whole universe. From the lowest worm that crawls under our feet to the highest beings that ever lived – all have various bodies, but are the one Soul.“ (Practical Vedanta Philosophy, Swami Vivekananda)

The sun and its rays—one and different at the same time. Vedanta and Sufism are the most sophisticated spiritual systems of humanity, in my opinion. I can only recommend everyone to study these teachings. In Vedanta there are three points of view concerning the relationship of the soul and God:

1. Total identity of the human soul and the Absolute (Nonduality, Advaita Vedanta)
2. Unity, but no identity of the human soul and the Absolute (Visisht Advaita) The living soul is intrinsically linked with the Supreme Lord, and yet at the same time different (the theological tenet of achintya-bheda-abheda tattva)
3. The Absolute as God, separated from man (Dvaita Vedanta)
