If we try to deny the basic differences in stimulus tolerance, our attempts to welcome all diversity can lead to social toxicity and bad feeling. Yes, cognitive, personality and other differences ensure that reality is the way we see it. As you are in the personal training business, it must occur to you that people who are culturally/personality/etc. different than us but whom we are close to, are in effect our personal trainers. After all, we grow and mature through tests and difficulties, not by taking the path of least resistance. Wouldn’t it be great if more people in difficult relationships recognized the value of their differences?
