You were called out for saying you believed in the oneness of mankind? If it were a Christian doing the accusing, you might have asked him or her, “But what about the Book of Acts that states that God “has made of one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth”? Seems like a lot of people are unaware of this verse. Or just the Book of Genesis and how we’re all supposed to be descended from Adam (which means mankind, incidentally) so we’re all cousins? Well, we do what we can these days. Unfortunately, in ten years, it’s just as bad or worse now.

What a fine topic! We are obviously in cynical times when you’re looked
down on for trying to be fair.
As you implied, the unfortunate stigma of “political correctness” must come from somebody’s idea that fair-minded people are “unthinking” sheep; I believe they are often seen as “marshmallows” too afraid to speak the truth, or too
naive to see it. That is a really uncharitable set of assumptions by
the critics, dogmatic itself!

My understanding of the term Politically correct is as defined below. I live in Ireland and have lived in the UK.
Definition of politically correct for English Language Learners
: agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people
