When my husband died from cancer six years ago, all I could think of was that he gets to see what the Abhá Kingdom is like and I’m stuck here to suffer. LOL! But seriously, the Writings do teach that the next life is full of joy. Perhaps we wouldn’t appreciate it so much if this life were that lovely. Just a thought. Also, a friend whose father had died told me he had appeared to her and told her, “They treat Bahá’ís special here,” and that even if one weren’t the “best” Bahá’í, that wasn’t as important as recognizing and accepting the Divine Station of Bahá’u’lláh. Just guessing, but maybe that’s because at this point it’s so rare for anyone do so. Eventually, everyone will, and it won’t be as significant or extraordinary.

If suffering didn’t exist, evolution would be redundant and the universe would be sterile. If the universe was sterile, what would it matter to anyone. It wouldn’t exist.
