Sadly, the old pharma, institututionalizing and hopeless attitudes of the medical paradigm have become prevelant. The truth, which you have demonstrated, is that people with “mental illness” are really just in need of lots of understanding and open-heartedness. Peer support is a growing movement as an alternative to conventional means of dealing with emotional/mental challenges.
