Apparently, there is evidence that at least some people arrived in the Americas by boat, traveling south along the seashore until they found a good place to stay.

PS Just a comment on last paragraph in article. I think we all “ruthlessly slaughtered” others regardless of who last arrived. Nations slaughtered and enslaved nations, and tribes slaughtered and enslaved tribes. We’re all in this together, and can learn much from another’s rich history.

Africa/Americas once joined (Pangaea). Common fossils of plants & animals in Africa & America. US Sloths came from S America. If a sloth could travel, our ancestors could. Bering crossing doesn’t mean others weren’t here. Archaeologists agree indigenous in N. America traced to Clovis (Bering) migration but debate pre-Clovis. ‘Abdu’l-Baha wrote what was known “hath been forgotten.” As civilization is adept at learning from others past or present, fighting locals or foreigners, what better time to apply what we know, the Covenant, to one’s current place in the world.

This is where “The Greater Covenant” usually associated with Abraham, and involving God’s promise not to leave humanity alone, that every group of hominids who spread out across planet Earth, starting in Africa, has needed a Messenger to inform human societies of what is needed to prepare spiritually for the next worlds of existence which ARE spiritual realms. Evidence may not ever be presented that is quantifiable.

In fact, several articles in this “Indigenous Messengers of God” series have already been devoted Deganawida, the Peacemaker. What defines us, is the extent we embrace God’s purpose in the age we live. The ancient cultures have much to teach us and can not be ignored. I see these cultures have a great connection with earth and spirit. Those that conquered could have learnt much, but they were blinded by predudices, the greatest being the misuse of a God given Faiths. Regards Tony

Archeologist, anthropologists and Native scholars are uncovering the immense cultural upheavals that occurred up and down the two continents. The Aztecs were apparently bent on dominating the Toltec culture that had existed long before they descended on it. They may have twisted many of the original traditions and teaching of Quezal Coatl into a violent and brutal distortion. The mighty “mound cultures” of the Mississippi valley seem to have also been a mere shadow of their former glory by the time Europeans reached the area – although the nasty bugs brought from Europe may have played a part. We must hurry to gather the traces!
