Nothing should pass the lips during the daylight hours unless it’s medication. Of course, no one is watching, so it’s always up to us how we carry out such teachings.

The fasting prayers in our more current books are for others who are fasting, and I’m going to use them during the Fast even though I’m 80 and too old to do it myself. Also, this year, the Fast is from March 2 to March 20. I have also been engaging in intermittent fasting most days for years, unless we have celebrations or the like. I decided I would not eat after dinner until breakfast the next day. It has served me well, as I lost weight, and I’m rarely hungry during those hours, so it frees me up to do other things without concern for food. Have a good one, David!

Also, the type of fasting used in these studies is very regular, weekly or even bi-daily, and probably not comparable to annual religious fasts.
