If we associate the opposite of “Life” being “Death” – this itself makes the problem apparent. ie: Prevalent in our culture, Death is viewed as not having Life. But – The opposite of Death is not Life, it is Birth, as your article clearly acknowledges.
I had difficulty understanding how does Soul go on forever if its conceived at birth. I grew up learning that everything that’s born must die, so if Soul is born, then it too must die. My own transformation came when I saw a link with how LIGHT behaves in physics. Once light is immitted (say from a bulb) it goes on into the cosmos, and like our ‘soul’ it too carries on forever, even if the candle and all its matter have gone
