Newton’s system was based on a plagiarism of Johannes Kepler’s original discovery of gravitation. Kepler’s solar system is dynamically organized by the intention of the Creator to produce harmony and beauty. Newton famously abjured hypothesizing. The contest was brought into further relief by the famous Leibniz-Clarke correspondence, where Leibniz defends Kepler’s view against the Newtonian adherence to absolute space and time. Leibniz was a powerful theologian, it’s instructive to read his Monadology in lieu of recent discoveries in sub-atomic, quantum physics.

No argument here – well said!

Hi Phil, thanks for the insight. “In the long run it is far more dangerous to adhere to illusion than to face what the actual fact is.”

As you are probably aware, the rejection of determinism is a feature of the philosophical assumptions that usually accompany QM, and are not required by the experimental evidence. The theory of David Bohm, although not as fully developed, is a deterministic theory that makes the same predictions, and in that sense, Einstein has not yet been contradicted by evidence. Of course, your main point still stands, that the world is quite subtle, and determinism can never be a practical possibility.

Hi Andrew. Future generations will almost certainly have new theories and physical models through which to view the universe and God’s Creation. But there will always be portions that will remain beyond our limited comprehension. Albert Einstein Quote: “As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it.” Cheers!

The material world we can know through using our senses and making reasonable deductions is a vanishingly small and almost inconsequential part of Reality. One could say that it is ‘shadow stretching out’, a vague and uncertain representation as on the wall of Plato’s cave, a mere exhalation or emanation from the Real World. Those precious individuals who guide humanity had direct access to innate knowledge, which for the rest of us is accessible through inspiration and meditation. [3 of 3]

This faculty of meditation frees man from the animal nature, discerns the reality of things, puts man in touch with God.
This faculty brings forth from the invisible plane the sciences and arts. Through the meditative faculty inventions are made possible, colossal undertakings are carried out; through it governments can run smoothly. Through this faculty man enters into the very Kingdom of God.
